WORKSHOPS + CLASSES

I host a variety of dynamic drawing and cyanotype workshops, classes and events. No matter the medium, I embrace a “come as you are” approach, offering invitations to worship at the altar of silliness. with an emphasis on offerings for people of all ages and abilities, I am to cultivate spaces to playfully surrender to the process, which allows participants to challenge their fears and perfectionism around art-making.

I wear an N95 or maskbloc approved KN95 mask at all events I attend or host. I will offer them at any events I facilitate. When I have the autonomy to do so, I require masks at my events. When I do not, I strongly encourage and provide them. I care about you and aim to do my part to mitigate the effects of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and curb other respiratory illnesses.

Cyanotype Magic

Friday June 12th
10:00 am - 1:00 pm
$75 per person, 10 students max
Masks required and provided 😷

Join me for this exciting 1-day workshop! No experience necessary. This class is especially supportive for people who wish to challenge their perfectionism and/or shake themselves loose from creative stagnancy.

Explore the magic of cyanotype as we make shadowgraphs using Rachel Mulder's trove of treasures and treated watercolor paper. This exploratory workshop will invite you to gently surrender to light and shadow as mysterious blue and white images transform before your eyes. Each person will get to make approximately seven cyanotypes. All supplies provided (but feel free to bring your own special trinkets as long as you don't mind them momentarily exposed under UV light).

This workshop takes place at the much-beloved Ulna Studio in Southeast Portland!

Control Freak

Friday June 12th
6:00 pm - 9:00 pm
$50 per person, 16 students max
Masks required and provided 😷

Challenge your inner control freak and cultivate neurospicy nurturance through surrealist drawing games and analog prompt-generated drawings! We’ll do several low-pressure, playful drawing exercises together and let our imaginations run wild! All materials will be provided, but you are of course invited to bring along your trusty pens, markers or pencils – this class will be dry-media melee! This class is for anyone, and especially people who may not consider themselves as “artists”!
